Edgar Allan Poets is a noir rock duo that consists of Chris on vocals and guitar, and Lop on drums. The music is incredibly eery, and has a delicately composed narrative structure. The band pays homage to one of my favourite literary authors of all time, the dark, the beautiful and the elusive; Edgar Allan Poe. To me, Edgar Allen Poets are evocative of a literary wet dream, they manage to seamlessly blend artistry and poetic narrative quite well. From the young age of 11, I had fallen in love with Egar Allan Poe, gothic poet and writer. For folks that are in the same boat, that love stepping into the tales of terror, dark romanticism and beautifully haunting poetry that trickle with darkness - you're in fear a treat..... Edgar Allan Poets are heavily influenced by Poe's literary legacy. They manage to combine his poetry with classical, yet grungy, undertones with beautiful vocals and tantilizing melodies. Their music videos are reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock's films and Edgar Allan Poe's macabre tales. They initially made their debut with the news of "Poe Parade" on the 20th of May, via Instagram and their official band website, and have kept it under wraps until recently. The band is set to release the heavily anticipated single in a couple of days.... Luckily - Willow Factory was given an exclusive clip to listen to, days before the release date. They've conjured something beautifully dark and grungy. Dare I say more? Perhaps you will hear it yourself, when it's released.
The Poe Parade video features our favourite alternative model, Robert Bang, as Edgar Allan Poe. The band approached Robert after coming across some of his pictures on instagram. As far as music and visual effects, I think this will be a perfect aesthetic union. Robert Bang is set to continue collaborating with the band on future projects.
