As i start to grow older, i find myself regressing into the things i liked in the past. Current fads aren't doing it for me and i feel quite distanced or alienated from it all. I've always been a creature of comfort, at times it feels like i have just stayed in the 90's - a faulty time machine. I've always been a fan of skinny jeans, dolly dresses and simple colour palettes.

I like to believe i adopt a scruffy chic look, we live in a weird world of semiotics, below are a list of my personal fashion idols.

1. Morticia & Wednesday Addams

Personally, i absolutely loved the Addams Family growing up. The love for the "Little Black Dress" that i have stemmed from this show. Plain, simple, spooky and chic.

2. Edie Sedgewick

Infamously known as the heiress and the muse that made Andy Warhol famous. I have always been a fan of exaggerated makeup, faux fur coats, stripey tops, glamourous dresses and chandelier earrings. The only exception; i dont do chandelier earrings i'll end up resembling Pat Butcher from Eastenders.

3. Chelsea Wolfe

This woman's sense of style is impeccable she exudes femininity in a sexy yet expiremental sort of way. At live shows (I've been to one so far) she wore a viel on stage, beautiful dresses and statement necklaces. Two words here: Dark minimalism.

4. Marilyn Manson

Okay - lets be frank and honest here, i think I've wanted to marry Brian Warner since i was the age of 12. I love everything this man emulates - akin to Bowie, Manson's use of theatrical makeup on stage and use of accessorising to simulate, gender is a performance. Although i love all his albums i'd say aesthetically Mechanical Animals and the Golden Age of Grotesque era's were my favourite. Why? Blurring of gender as well as bringing back a Burlesqiuan Era, for the Golden Age of Grotesque a lot of outfits and stage production was crafted by Jean Paul Gautier.

5. Victoria LeGrand

Yes - in my eyes the singer of Beach House, kudos to the Indie World for this one. Victoria LeGrand is able to mix vintage clothing with modern day/ scruffy clothing. She is one of very few stars that can get away with wearing some of the most unflattering pieces of clothing i have ever seen.
